This is our glossary. Here, you’ll find Ryber-specific and non-specific blockchain vocabulary explained.

AirDrop - this refers to the free distribution of tokens or NFTs to participants who fulfil certain prerequisites

Battle Royale – this is a fight in which more than two combatants are engaged and the victor is the last surviving participant.

Blockchain – this refers to a continuous chain of blocks in which all records of transactions are stored. Unlike conventional databases, in the blockchain, it is impossible to delete or make changes to records, you can only enter new data

In-game breeding – this is the process of creating a new RoBro NFTs by combining others. To start this process in Ryber, it’s important to have at least two RoBros.

Burning – this is the process of permanently removing tokens from circulation by sending them to a dead address or a crypto wallet from which they cannot be retrieved.

The Founders – this is a nickname given to Ryber’s original NFT collection. They are also known as the Genesis Robro

GameFi – this is a fusion of the words “Game” and “Finance.” It combines cryptocurrency, blockchain, NFTs, and a variety of in-game mechanics to create a virtual environment in which players can participate and earn money in the process.

The Genesis Robro – this is a unique collection of the first generation of Robros. There will never be more than 10,000 of them.

Guild – this refers to a gaming community focused on blockchain games with a play-to-earn model. It brings together users from all over the world who invest in NFTs. The purpose of Guilds is to create a network of gamers and investors who help each other grow in the NFT gaming space

Hoverboard – this is an NFT upgrade for the Robro in Ryber: the Lost Data Runner

IGO – this stands for Initial Game Offering and provides individuals with the opportunity to invest in a game at an early stage, with the prospect of earning huge returns after its launch.

Liquidity pool - these are smart contracts containing locked tokens that were offered up by platform users. They are self-executing and don't rely on intermediaries

Lore – this refers to the the backstory of a game; it’s not always possible to understand the lore solely by playing the game.

Lootbox – this refers to a box with different types of rewards inside which are randomly chosen for the player upon opening.

Metaverse – this is a virtual universe similar to ours, where you can communicate, earn money and simply hang out.

Marketplace – this refers to a market on the blockchain where you can buy or sell your NFTs.

Mint – this refers to the launch of a collection of NFTs on a blockchain

MMORPG - Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games do what they say on the tin!

NFT – A Non Fungible Token is a unique piece of digital art stored on the blockchain which you can trade with other players or use to access the game and earn money.

NFT rental – this is a process that enables a player to rent an NFT from another player if they can’t or wouldn’t like to purchase one.

P2E – Play to Earn means that you earn money by playing a game

PS – this refers to the gaming console PlayStation.

PvP – Player versus player, where players are set to compete against one another

Pet – this refers to your in-game playable character (in our case, these are the Robro)

PvE – Player versus Environment is when you play against the game and not against other players.

Rarity tier - our Robros are divided into 6 rarity tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythical. The rarest and most unique Robro are those with the Mythical rarity (0.1%) and the most common are those with the Common rarity (50%)

Reward – we have certain prizes that can be received for in-game actions, such as reaching the finish line, or completing daily quests

Robro – this refers to an in-game character that you store as an NFT in your crypto wallet. It’s also a pet with which you play Ryber: The Lost Data Runner and earn tokens.

Robro Generations – this is the name given for all subsequent generations of Robros after the Genesis Robros collection. In other words, those NFTs that have been generated through the breeding function.

The Robro NFT – this is a basic type of NFT that gives you access to Ryber.

Ryber – this is the name of our brand (Robots + Cyberpunk + Runner). Inside Ryber’s games, you’ll be able to earn money, socialise and enjoy the gaming experience.

$RYBER – this is the native token of the Ryber Ecosystem. It’s ultimately a core currency that is used for earning in-game rewards and enabling governance.

The RyberDAO – this is Ryber's decentralised autonomous organisation that takes the form of a smart contract on the Solana blockchain. The RyberDAO brings people together and allows them to lead the game’s development and make crucial decisions for the Ryber universe

The Ryber Ecosystem – this comprises the RyberVerse, the RyberMetaMaker, the RyberHub and the RyberDAO.

The RyberHub – this is a digital blockchain distribution centre via which players and investors can find new games and communities, earn $RYBER and other tokens from unique games, while creators are able to publish their own P2E games that are developed through the RyberMetaMaker.

The RyberMetaMaker – this is the ultimate toolkit for the creation of GameFi mechanics, which allows independent developers to easily implement Play-to-Earn features into their own games.

Ryver — this is a kind of NFT in the form of a car which can be used in Ryber: The Lost Data Runner.

SDK – a Software Development Kit refers to a set of tools for third-party developers to use in producing applications using a particular framework or platform.

Smart Contracts – these are blockchain programs that enable DeFi transactions

Staking – this refers to a way in which you can turn your $RYBER tokens or Genesis Robro NFTs into a source of passive income.

Staking dashboard – this is a dashboard where users can visualise the fruits of staking their NFTs or tokens

Stamina Limit – this is a limit that caps your participation in matches

Vesting schedule - this is a pre-set schedule that dictates when holders will be able to use their tokens

Vintage Robro — this is a unique collection of vintage Robros – the result of post-mint breeding. This collection is going to be truly special, but we’re not ready to reveal the cards just yet!

Web 3.0 — this is a concept relating to a new, third generation of the Internet – it’s decentralised and powered by the blockchain and smart tokenomics

Whitelist – this is a list of people who have been chosen for the presale due to their fullfilment of certain prerequisites, such as an amount staked or a registered interest in the project
